Child life specialists often utilize technology in interventions to normalize the hospital environment or to provide diversion from stressful experiences. This presentation provides an educational resource discussing the implications of technology use in order to promote positive development and family-centered experiences for hospitalized youth.

Describe the ways in which technology impacts cognitive, physical and psychosocial development for children and adolescents.
Assess how hospitalization and illness relate to technology use and youth development.
