The purpose of this study was to explore how facility-canine assistant therapy (FCAT) programs are being used in pediatric hospitals across the country, and to understand the experiences of CCLS' who are also FCAT handlers.
Objectives:
Demonstrate an understanding of facility-canine assistant therapy (FCAT) programs.
Identify the research study design and analyses used for this study.
Verbalize the responsibilities and challenges of a CCLS who is also a FCAT handler.

Brittany Wittenberg
Ph.D., CCLS, CFLE
Brittany Wittenberg is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Louisiana State University and a Certified Child Life Specialist. Brittany completed her PhD, MA, and BS in Human Development and Family Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. From 2009–2016, Brittany practiced as a child life specialist in the Surgical Services Department at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas in Austin, Texas.
