Creating A Nonprofit Organization to Make a National and Global Impact

Child Life Specialists can serve children and families by applying their unique skills in nonprofit organizations. With twenty-eight years of combined experience, learn about NPOs started by two CCLSs. Learn about the journey of a small, volunteer-led nonprofit with a global focus and a large multi-site nonprofit with a national impact. Basics of startup, operations, clinical supervision, program challenges and opportunities will be discussed.

Objectives:
Identify the challenges and successes on the journey to start and sustain a NPO.
Understand the assessment and implementation process that two CCLS-led NPOs used to create an impact at a national and global level
Describe the rationale and opportunity for CCLSs to work and volunteer in NPOs.
