Cultivating Resilience Through Self-Care

This webinar will offer an exploration of the term "self-care" and why we, as child life specialists, must begin to prioritize how we recharge and revitalize our mind, body and soul in order to operate at our highest potential while cultivating a culture of resiliency.

Objectives:

-Define self-care and discuss the buzz around this term.
-Review effects of stress response on physical and emotional state of the body/mind.
-Explore mindful ways to create a self-care practice that supports a more holistic approach to caring for the Self.
-Attendees will be able to take away a set of tools and resources that may assist in creating one's self-care practice. -Attendees may feel empowered to put their self-care first which will in tern help cultivate resiliency within the field of caregiving and empathetic work.

Nicole has been a Certified Child Life Specialist for the last 10 years at Cohen Children's Medical Center in Queens, NY, as well as a yoga and meditation teacher for the last 3 years. Through her study of yoga, reiki and aromatherapy, Nicole has enjoyed finding a new perspective on what it truly means to take care of the self and enjoys helping others find their path to a more whole and peaceful experience.
