This workshop will focus on the development and implementation of child life programs that cater to the unique cultural needs of patients and their families. Drawing from over ten years of experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) from a different cultural background, the session will highlight successful strategies for creating culturally inclusive activities, fostering empathetic communication, and building trust with multicultural families. Additionally, the presentation will emphasize the importance of having a diverse team of Child Life Specialists to provide varied perspectives and insights into the care process.

Jayti Sud, MSc, CCLS, is a dedicated child development specialist and global advocate for pediatric psychosocial care, with over 20 years of impactful work in both Kuwait and India. She currently serves as the Internship Supervisor at KACCH/BACCH in Kuwait, where she has been instrumental in mentoring and shaping the next generation of Child Life Specialists through culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate care.
With a Master of Science in Child Development, Jayti’s research focused on play-based interventions for institutionalized children, highlighting her deep commitment to child-centered, trauma-informed practices. Her work bridges clinical expertise with compassionate care, particularly in the areas of pain prevention and emotional support for children and families navigating healthcare experiences.
Jayti continues to lead and advocate for the growth of Child Life programs in emerging regions—most notably in Kuwait —where she is actively involved in education, training, and capacity building. Her unwavering dedication to equity in healthcare and global collaboration makes her a respected leader and voice in the international Child Life community.
