This webinar presents a newly developed system for assessing, intake, and managing behavioral safety plans for patients who are aggressive, combative, or pose safety risks. The session explores the system’s functionality, from patient identification to plan execution, with a focus on practical application and multidisciplinary collaboration. Presenters will share strategies for creating effective safety plans, highlight the role of cross-team communication, and offer tools to support advocacy efforts in participants’ own settings. The interactive format includes PowerPoint, quizzes, video, and collaborative exercises to enhance learning and engagement.

Learning Objective(s):
1. Participants will be able to identify the building blocks of this system and how it came into creation. Background on the building blocks of this system will be discussed, including resources, what worked/didn’t work, and the reason for program development.
2. Participants will be able to learn about the behavioral consult system and identify allies that will support behavioral safety consult efforts. Description of the system, APIE approach, and results will be discussed.
3. Participants will be able to identify/assess Adaptive Care Plan (ACT) Patients vs. Behavioral Safety Patients. 
4. Participants will be able to gain practice creating a behavioral safety plan. Participants will be split into groups to work collaboratively during this section.
5. Participants will be able to advocate for behavioral safety patients in collaboration with anesthesia. Pre-medication from an anesthesia perspective will be discussed.
