The inclusion of closed-circuit television (TV) programming in pediatric hospitals and the benefits of video programming have received little study. This presentation will give an overview of an independent radio/TV studio, provide detailed steps for creating a studio in a pediatric medical setting, and highlight the data-driven impact of this type of programming.

Riley Hammond

Riley, MS, CCLS is passionate and creative with a heart for people and programs that facilitate growth. Riley completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Texas A&M University in 2011 and her master’s degree in Family & Child Studies at Texas State University in 2013. Over the past 8 years, Riley has worked in a variety of clinical settings at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and Texas Children’s Hospital. Currently, Riley is the Child Life Specialist Coordinator for Dream Big Studio at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Riley supported the opening of the radio/TV studio in 2020 and continues to manage the daily programming and operational needs. Riley has served as the chair for the ACLP Web and Online Networking Committee, member of the ACLP Education and Training Committee, and currently is a Director on the ACLP Board of Directors. She also served on the Texas Association of Child Life Professionals Board and coauthored an ACLP Bulletin article. Riley has given presentations at regional and national conferences including the Child Life Annual Conference and the Texas Pediatric Palliative Care Consortium. Riley love crafting, goals, and do-goodery.
