    Amanda Lockett, MEd, MS, CCLS, is currently a PhD student in the Educational and Organizational Leadership Development department at Clemson University. Her research focuses on the experiences of students pursuing careers in child life and the experiences of individuals with marginalized identities in healthcare and educational settings. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 and earned Child Life Certification that same year. Amanda worked at several children's hospitals including Miami Children's Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and currently works as a per diem child life specialist at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital of the Upstate. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Vanderbilt University in 2015 and returned to the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Human Ecology. Amanda has been teaching child life courses since 2017. She is an active member of The Association of Child Life Professionals and the Southeastern Association of Child Life Professionals, and she currently serves as the chair of appeals and a member of the ethics committee with the Child Life Certification Committee.
